VILLAFANS

Surrounded with forests, the village has got a small church with its pyramidal steeple dating from the 19th century, which was built in two periods. It shelters a quite special crucified Christ. An oratory was erected in the village on the road towards Étroitefontaine, further to the cholera plague that spread that time except this village. We can find also ancient farmhouses and several fountains: two half moon fountains, one is covered and the other has a rectangular basin. All these fountains are watered and nicely flowered in summer. In the forest of Villafans, an American stele was erected in 2001 in memory of a US pilot killed in the crash of his B17, saving his crew.
