VELLECHEVREUX ET COURBENANS
A cemetery of the 7th and 8th century was discovered in the 19th century on the area of Vellechevreux. The church, built in the 17th century, was totally redesigned in the 19th century. Only the “Comtois” steeple was preserved. The wash-house is near the place of the village, whereas a fountain, at the centre of the village, has been re-watered recently. The hamlet of Courbenans is about two kilometres east and comprises character houses as well as a nice fountain. At the centre of the village, there is a beautiful house of the 16th century with an octagonal tower. It was the ancient hunter’s house for the counts of Montbéliard.
