SAINT FERJEUX
This small village bears the name of the patron saint of the parish. According to the history, the region of Besançon was evangelized by Saint Ferjeux. In the past, the village was under the authority of the Seigneury of Granges, then of the Lord of Villersexel. The church was entirely rebuilt in 1842, except its square steeple with its pyramidal roof. Inside, you can see a beautiful retable coming from the ancient church. The painting represents St Fereol and St Ferjeux. A lot of retables were built in Haute-Saône during the 17th and the 18th century, in order to fight the Protestant faith which was developing in the area of Montbéliard.
